Fat Accumulation for Liposuction

When considering high definition liposuction, it is crucial that your surgeon possess an understanding of the areas of fat pad accumulation for liposuction design. Appreciating regions of the body that are conducive to fat removal and micro etching guides your surgical design. Females and males have quite different problem areas that are prone to fat accumulation. Dr. Alfredo Hoyos who pioneered high definition liposculpture best presents the gender differences in, “High Definition Body Sculpting – Art and Advanced Lipoplasty Techniques,” as shown below.

Gender Differences in Fat Accumulation for Liposuction

In general, females maintain a higher percentage of their body fat superficial to the muscles. This contrasts in comparison to males, who tend to have a large portion of their fat stored in their gut. This fat is termed intra-abdominal fat. Unfortunately, this internal fat is not amenable to liposculpture. In addition, females tend to accumulate a greater percentage of their fat over the pelvic region, hips, lower back, buttocks, thighs, and legs. In contrast, males tend to accumulate their fat over the chest, abdomen, and flanks.

When areas of fat accumulation were treated using traditional liposuction techniques, the only improvement in body contours was appreciated. However, with the addition of high definition liposuction techniques, we can appreciate dramatic transformations in body contour. For example, drastic narrowing of the waistline in females and abdominal muscle highlights are now possible.

Considerations

Almost everyone is a candidate for High Def Liposculpture, as long as the fat accumulation for liposuction is in unwanted areas. Patients who are near their ideal body weight will see the best results when using hi-def liposuction alone. Patients with moderate to severe skin redundancy will require additional skin tightening procedure with Renuvion or tucking procedure.
