How it Dictates the Optimal Body Contouring Surgical Design

HD Liposuction body contouring used in order to achieve transformative outcomes requires a strategic and sound operative plan. Firstly, we must design your body contouring surgical plan which starts with identifying patient needs via patient selection. In order to clarify patient selection, Dr. Mowlavi has specifically developed the High Definition Liposuction (HDL) Body Scale.

HDL Body Scale provides patients a body score based on:

1st the degree of fat excess
2nd amount of skin redundancy
3rd the quality of skin texture

The degree of fat excess will determine whether we remove comprehensive or selective fat.  The amount of skin redundancy and quality of skin texture will dictate whether less invasive technologies such as the Renuvion J plasma, simultaneous mini-tuck, or even staged full-tucking procedure will be required to achieve Transformative body contouring outcomes.  As such, we evaluate each body contouring client independently, in order to create a surgical design that will most dramatically improve their given body contour.

Application of HDL Body Scale

First, patients are assigned a score based on a High Definition Liposuction (HDL) Body Scale. Then patients can be customized a surgical plan with the intent to getting them to a near-perfect 9 or 10 HDL Body Score. The HDL Body Scale specifically ranges from 2 to 10 points (with a near-perfect 9 or 10 being the most desirable and TRUE high definition liposuction result) as below:

HDL body scale male
HDL body scale female

HDL Body Score Description Treatment Plan
9-10 Denotes near perfection or a TRUE high definition liposuction result
7-8 Minimal to moderate fat excess, Tight skin, Excellent texture of skin Vaser Liposuction only
5-7 Minimal to moderate fat excess, Minimally loose skin, Good texture of skin Vaser Liposuction and Renuvion Skin tightening
4-5 Moderate to severe fat excess, Moderate loose skin, Localized poor texture of skin Vaser Liposuction and Mini Tucking Procedure
2-4 Moderate to severe fat excess, Severe skin redundancy, Diffusely poor textured skin Staged: Full tucking procedure followed by Vaser Liposuction

The HDL Body Scale allows experienced VASER surgeons to specifically address contouring concerns with strategic surgical designs intended to achieve a near perfect 9 or 10 result. Moreover, the HDL Body Scale is CRITICAL to Dictating Surgical Protocol and achieving High Definition Results (HDL Body Score 9-10).

Following HDL Body Scale evaluation and scoring, we design your surgical treatment plan so that you are ensured to reach a body score of near-perfect 9 or 10 postoperatively. In order to find out more information on the correct surgical plan for your body, schedule a free consult with Dr. Mowlavi.
